Quiet ductless for a downtown Boise short-term rental
A small rental where guests fought a loud wall AC and the owner fought the reviews. A ceiling cassette solved both.

System: single-zone ductless heat pump with a flush ceiling cassette

Duration: one day
The challenge
Guest reviews kept mentioning the noise of the wall unit and a bedroom that was either freezing or hot. The owner wanted something quiet, invisible and hard for guests to break.
What we did
A single-zone ductless heat pump with a ceiling cassette flush in the living area ceiling, a simple wall control locked to a sensible range, and washable filters the owner cleans between guests.
The result
Silent heating and cooling, nothing on the walls, and the noise complaints gone from the reviews. The owner has since had us do two more units.
In the homeowner's words
"Guests used to mention the AC in every other review. Now they don't mention it at all, which is exactly what I wanted."

A sound gas furnace, an air conditioner that died, and a family watching their winter bills. We paired a cold-climate heat pump with the furnace they already had.
