The install matters more than the brand
Here's something most people don't hear from an HVAC company: the day your furnace is installed matters more than the logo on it. A good furnace installed carelessly will be loud, short-lived and expensive to run. A mid-range furnace installed right will quietly do its job for twenty years.
We size every system with a real load calculation, not a guess from the old unit's nameplate. We check the ductwork, the venting and the gas line, because a new furnace on bad ductwork is a new furnace with the old problems.
You'll get options in plain language, the rebates that apply, and a firm installed price. Most replacements are done in a day.

Signs it's time
When replacement makes more sense than repair
Past 15 years
Furnaces can run 20 years or more, but repairs get more frequent and parts get harder to find after 15.
Repeated repairs
Two repair calls in two winters is the pattern. The next one is already on its way.
Rising bills
An old single-stage furnace can burn a third more gas than a modern two-stage unit for the same heat.
Uneven rooms
Hot upstairs, cold downstairs. Sometimes it's ductwork, sometimes it's an oversized furnace that never runs long enough.
Safety concerns
A cracked heat exchanger isn't repairable. That's a replacement, and it's not optional.
Adding cooling
If you're adding air conditioning, replacing an old furnace at the same time saves labor and pairs the equipment properly.
How we size and choose a furnace
We measure the house, count the windows, check the insulation and run a load calculation. That tells us the heating output the home actually needs. Oversizing is the most common installation mistake in the valley, and it's why so many furnaces short cycle and heat unevenly.
From there you'll see two or three options: a solid single-stage unit, a two-stage or modulating model that runs quieter and more evenly, and if it fits your home, a dual-fuel pairing with a heat pump. We'll tell you which one we'd put in our own house.
Installation day
A crew arrives in the morning with drop cloths and shoe covers. The old unit comes out, the plenum and transitions are fitted to the new one, the venting and condensate are run properly, and the gas line is pressure tested. We commission the furnace by measuring temperature rise, gas pressure and static pressure, then set up the thermostat and walk you through it.
You'll have heat by evening, the paperwork for any rebates, and a warranty registered in your name.

Furnace Installation questions
How long does a furnace installation take?+
Most straight replacements are done in one day. Adding a coil for air conditioning, re-venting, or ductwork changes can add a second day. We'll tell you before we start.
What size furnace do I need?+
Whatever the load calculation says. Square footage alone doesn't tell you, because insulation, windows, ceiling height and orientation all change the answer. We measure rather than guess.
Is a two-stage furnace worth it?+
In the Treasure Valley, usually yes. Most of the winter is mild enough that a two-stage furnace runs on low, which is quieter, more even and cheaper. The premium pays back over the life of the unit.
Are there rebates for a new furnace?+
Often. Gas utility rebates for high-efficiency furnaces and federal tax credits for qualifying equipment change year to year. We'll tell you what applies to the model you choose and handle the paperwork.
Reviews
What your neighbors are saying
“Our furnace quit on a Sunday night in January. They were here Monday morning, showed me the cracked igniter, gave me a price and had it running in under an hour. No upsell, no drama.”
“Second opinion saved us thousands. Another company said we needed a whole new system. Bright Peak found a failed capacitor and a dirty coil. That was two summers ago and it's still running fine.”
“They installed two ductless heads in our old North End house in a day. The crew was polite, cleaned up, and walked us through the remotes. We finally have air conditioning.”
