FAQ
Questions we hear a lot
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, call and ask.
Service calls
How fast can you come?+
Same day for most no-heat and no-cool calls in season, with a real arrival window when you book. Comfort Club members are first on the board.
Do you charge a diagnostic fee?+
A flat fee for repair visits, waived if you go ahead with the repair, and waived entirely for Comfort Club members.
Which brands do you work on?+
Every major residential brand sold in Idaho, including ductless mini-splits.
What are your hours?+
Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm, with extended hours for emergencies in the hottest and coldest weeks.
Repairs and replacements
Should I repair or replace?+
Under 12 years with a single failed part, repair. Past 15 with repeated problems, we'll quote both so you can compare the repair against a new system with rebates.
How long does an installation take?+
Most replacements are one day. Ductwork changes, new electrical or a whole-house ductless system can take two or three.
Do you pull permits?+
Always. Mechanical and electrical permits are part of every installation, and we schedule the inspection.
What's the warranty?+
Manufacturer parts warranties of ten years on most new equipment, registered in your name, plus our own labor warranty in writing.
Heat pumps and ductless
Do heat pumps work in Boise winters?+
Cold-climate models do, down to well below zero. We size them for the valley's design temperature and recommend a dual-fuel furnace backup where the home has gas.
Is ductless right for my older home?+
If there's no ductwork, almost certainly. Ductless heats and cools room by room with no ducts and installs in a day or two.
Money
Do you offer financing?+
Yes, on new systems, with fixed monthly payments and promotional periods when available. Subject to credit approval.
What rebates apply?+
Utility rebates and federal tax credits for qualifying equipment. We show them on every quote and handle the utility paperwork.
Is the instant quote accurate?+
Most firm quotes land inside its range. Ductwork, electrical and venting are what move the number, which is what a visit checks.
