Furnace tune-ups
Furnace maintenance in Boise, Idaho
A real fall tune-up that catches problems before the first cold night.
- Family owned
- Licensed & insured
- Flat-rate pricing
- Same-day service
A tune-up that's more than a filter change
A furnace tune-up is cheap insurance, but only if someone actually does the work. Ours takes about an hour, and you'll get a sheet of real readings at the end, not a checkbox form.
We clean the flame sensor and burners, test the igniter, check the heat exchanger, measure gas pressure and temperature rise, test every safety switch, and look at the blower and capacitor. Then we tell you what's fine, what's wearing, and what you should budget for.
The best time is September or October, before the furnace has to prove itself. Comfort Club members get it scheduled automatically.

Why annual maintenance pays
Most no-heat calls we run in January are things a fall tune-up would have caught: a flame sensor coated in a season's worth of dust, an igniter with a hairline crack, a capacitor reading low. Fixing those on a scheduled visit in October costs less than an emergency call on a Sunday night in January.
There's a second reason. Manufacturer warranties almost always require documented annual maintenance. A tune-up record protects a ten-year parts warranty that could be worth a lot.

Furnace Maintenance questions
How often should I have my furnace serviced?+
Once a year, in the fall. Heat pumps that also cool should be looked at twice, spring and fall. The Comfort Club covers both visits.
What does a furnace tune-up cost?+
We'll give you the price when you call. Comfort Club membership includes the fall and spring visits and takes 15% off any repair, so it usually pays for itself the first time something needs attention.
Can I do furnace maintenance myself?+
Change the filter every one to three months and keep the area around the furnace clear. Leave the burners, gas pressure and heat exchanger to a technician with the instruments to test them.
How long does a tune-up take?+
About an hour for a furnace, a bit longer for a heat pump or a furnace with an attached cooling coil.
Reviews
What your neighbors are saying
“Our furnace quit on a Sunday night in January. They were here Monday morning, showed me the cracked igniter, gave me a price and had it running in under an hour. No upsell, no drama.”
“Second opinion saved us thousands. Another company said we needed a whole new system. Bright Peak found a failed capacitor and a dirty coil. That was two summers ago and it's still running fine.”
“They installed two ductless heads in our old North End house in a day. The crew was polite, cleaned up, and walked us through the remotes. We finally have air conditioning.”
