The job
Both pieces of the original system were past twenty-five years and the owner was ready. We installed a two-stage furnace and paired it with a heat pump in place of the old air conditioner, so the heat pump carries the mild months and the furnace takes the cold snaps.
The result
Cooling that keeps up, heating bills down through most of the winter, and rebates that covered a good share of the heat pump's premium over a plain AC.
